I must have logged over 300 hours on SORR, and I honestly really had a great time with it. ^^Īs for SoR 2, it's more of a late appreciation for a true classic, with its limitations of the time and all, something that SoRR couldn't and shouldn't even try to be.

Likewise, the start of Stage 2 and the whole level, fighting inmates and police officers, sick, not to mention going up beating more police and inmates up to the commissioner himself. That's the part that made stage 1 stand out. I would've agreed with you there on SoR 4, had it not been for the Koobos and Diva standing out on their own. Every piece of music from SoR 2 that was remixed in SoR 4 sounds worse whereas SoRR might have even done the impossible and made even the best tunes of SoR 1 and 2 sound better, not to mention make the worst tunes of SoR 3 at least listenable. I actually found the first couple levels in SoR 4 a let-down because it was too similar to SoR 2 and did not compare favorably. Not to mention, there are the BK3 / SoR3 features which I had wished SoR 2 had. There is not a single high in SoR 2 that was not made still higher in SoRR, which features all of the levels and even ups the drama in certain boss fights. I hear you there, but for me SoRR basically replaces SoR 2. Originally posted by SebaOutbreak:Never played SoRR, though none of the original games had blood either? It's not that SoR4 is family-friendly, it doesn't need blood/gore to look good. That's also not to say that SOR 2 is flawless, but with less levels it drags on far less, not to mention that it has a lot more highs than it does lows. That's kind of how I'm feeling playing the game now.

That's because SOR 4 is a series of some highs and then lows, like the first 2 stages are awesome, then it fizzles out until stage 5, where you get into the bar and fight Barbon, arguably the best boss in the game, also stage 6 is pretty kickass, until you get to Shiva which is where the lows start hitting again, until you get to Stage 9, which is probably everyone's favorite and, you get the point. I could still pick SOR 2 despite having played it for the first time not long ago and have a blast with it. Or the routes that the game has, for a lot of replayability. I don't dig gore in this kind of art style either.īesides, when the game has a ton of things, like being able to pick nearly every key mechanic (something new that, I've never seen in any game out there) from previous SOR titles, for things like jumping, punching, weapon attack/durability, etc. I mean, you can always disable it too in SoRR if you don't like it, like I did.
